Bruce County Federation of Agriculture President Les Nichols admits their choice of speaker for the Federation's 75th anniversary event is a little non-traditional for an ag-related event.
Michael 'Pinball' Clemons highlites the July 22nd event, which also includes a social and a locally prepared meal.
Nichols suggests Clemons motivational style of speaking could help attract some of the federation's younger members to the event.
"The whole idea was to put just a little different spin than just your traditional ag-based speaker. There's lots of those around and lots of good ones but we sorta wanted to do something a little different. Actually, hopefully to attract some of our younger members."
He thinks it's also a good fit for modern agriculture as it evolves into more of a business.
The overall goal of the anniversary event is to recognize the past of the Bruce County Federation of Agriculture and inspire the future.
"Some of them are no longer available to be there, but we're certainly hoping that there will be a reasonable response from past executive members, presidents, board members and so on and so forth and I'm reasonably comfortable there will be."
It's being held July 22nd at the Cargill Community Centre.
They're only selling 300 tickets for the event.
Tickets and more information are available through Bruce County Federation of Agriculture directors or the Federation's office in Hanover.
