Social media is playing a major role in this year's Food Day Canada.
The annual celebration of the food made in this country is the focus of a Twitter party tonight.
That party is based on Food Day Canada's 'Shop Like A Canadian' grocery list.
Spokesperson Anita Stewart says that list plus details about tonight's Twitter party are on the website fooddaycanada.ca.
"Asking Canadians a series of questions about what it means to them to shop Canadian, where they're shopping, where they're going to be on Food Day Canada and what is Food Day Canada for you in your neck of the woods."
She's encouraging people to take pictures of their food and post them on social media, using the hashtag #fooddaycanada.
"We are aggregating them on one of our pages called Join The Party and it's amazing what's there already."
She says there are already a number of pictures posted there, as well as some recipes and other information related to Food Day Canada.
Stewart says this year's Food Day Canada will be Saturday, July 30th.
