Looking To Simplify Ontario Food Processing Regulations

The provincial government has launched an effort it says will help reduce red tape in the Ontario food processing sector.

Businesses and the public are being asked to help identify and improve regulations that are unclear, outdated, redundant or unnecessarily costly for the sector.

The government says it is committed to maintaining and strengthening what it calls some of the most stringent food safety standards in North America.

It says it also wants to enhance the competitiveness of the province's food processing sector.

Feedback can be provided online through the website Ontario.ca/RedTapeChallenge.

Deadline for those submissions is September 30th.
