Total Receipts 1992 cattle & 551 lambs & goats

Summary Tuesday Fed steers and heifers sold on a good demand at prices $1-$2 higher.

Choice strs and hfrs 124.00 – 127.00 sales to $134.00. Second cut 121.00 – 124.00.

Cows sold steady to last week’s prices.

Thursday Veal calves sold on a good active trade with right weight Holstein calves selling steady, heavier Holsteins sold higher and beef calves sold $5-$10 higher. Lambs sold slightly lower, sheep sold barely steady and goats sold steady.

Friday Cattle sold at steady prices on a strong active trade.

Steers

Richard Slumskie of Dobbington consigned 6 head that averaged 1115 lbs and sold for an average price of 125.50. Three black steers weighed an average of 1197 lbs and sold for 134.00. Marvin C. Bauman of Mount Forest consigned 18 steers that averaged 1734 lbs and sold for an average price of 127.08. One black steer weighed 1630 lbs and sold for 134.00.

Heifers

Southlore Farms of Palmerston consigned 12 heifers that averaged 1331 lbs and sold for an average price of 118.80. Two heifers weighed an average of 1310 lbs and sold for 128.50. Keith Weppler of Ayton consigned 2 head that averaged 1608 lbs and sold for an average price of 119.59. One black heifer weighed 1575 lbs and sold for 115.00
