Lots of Local Winners at the Royal

Midwestern Ontario had plenty of representation during the awards presentation at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair yesterday for Angus showing.

Brad Gilchrist of Lucknow was the big winner on the day.

He won Junior Division Champion Calf, Junior Division Champion Yearling Heifer, and showed the Reserve Senior Champion Female.

The Sinclair family of Fergus had the Reserve Intermediate Division Champion Yearling Heifer.

Milverton's Peter Frijters showed the Reserve Intermediate Division Champion Female Calf.

Earlier in the fair, Frijters also had the Hereford Intermediate Division Female Calf Reserve Champ.

Reserve Champion Senior Division Yearling Heifer honours went to Austina Bellamy of Tiverton.

At the Limousin competition, Kincardine's Bailey McConnell's Junior Division Champion Female Yearling also won Reserve Grand Champion Female.

Paul MacIntyre won the Premier Exhibitor Award.

Todd and Karen Campbell from Meaford showed the Simmental Champion Get of Sire as well as the Reserve Junior Champion Female.

Ripley's Wanda Snobelen won the Premier Breeder Award for her Charolais showing.

The Charolais Herdsmen Award went to Brian Aitken of Mount Forest.

Jamie and Ellen Blenkiron dominated the Shorthorn competition, winning the Herdsman Award for showing Blenview Champagne, the Senior Champion Female, Supreme Champion Shorthorn Female, Grand Champion Female and the Harold R. White Trophy winner.
