Perth-Wellington Member of Parliament John Nater held a roundtable meeting in Listowel to discuss the future of Canadian agricultural programs.
The roundtable was aimed at gathering feedback and suggestions on how Growing Forward 2 programs could be improved.
Those in attendance touched on AgriStability, AgriInnovation, AgriInsurance and free trade.
Nater feels it's important to hear directly from those who use the programs.
He says bureaucrats at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada are often disconnected from the realties facing today's farmers.
Nater plans bring the suggestions back to AAFC to make recommendations for the upcoming Growing Forward 3 program which will begin in 2018.
