Born and raised on a farm in Iowa, Astronaut Peggy Whitson is now shooting for the stars.
Whitson says her parents raised hogs and cattle while mostly growing corn and soybeans.
As a teenager, she sold chickens for two dollars a piece to earn money for flight school.
After college, Whitson moved to Houston for graduate school and yesterday she docked on the International space station.
The astronaut says she still owns farmland in Iowa that her husband and brother-in-law run on a full-time basis.
