DFC Funding Women and Girls in Sports

Women and girls focused on sports excellence are getting funding from the Dairy Farmers of Canada.

The Champions Fund has awarded $100,000 to girls and women in Canadian sports.

$5,000 will go to 20 different athletes who all applied to the inaugural program, submitting stories of their goals, passion, and need for financial assistance.

DFC Executive Director Caroline Emond says the group is extremely proud to be able to support Canadian females as they pursue athletic excellence.

She hopes the grants will serve as motivation for even more girls and women to get involved in sports.

More than 2,500 applications were sent in for the Champions Fund.
