Canadian egg producers have kicked up production in the last year.
Statistics Canada reports egg production hit 63.7 million dozen in November, a gain of 7 per cent on 2015's output.
Production for Ontario reached 23.8 million dozen, a yearly increase of 5.8 per cent.
The price of Canadian eggs in November saw a boost of 0.6 per cent to $1.54 a dozen.
Ontario eggs were fully steady with prices from a year earlier, averaging $1.50.
StatsCan also notes year-over-year placements of hatchery chicks for the nation increased another 0.2 per cent in December.
Stocks of frozen poultry meat in cold storage to start 2017 are at 71,000 tonnes, which is 7 and a half per cent more than at the beginning last year.
