Poultry Group Not Happy With Mercy For Animals' Tactics

The Canadian Poultry and Egg Processors Council feels the Mercy for Animals group is hiding their real agenda.

The national trade organization says MFA's real goal is to completely stop the consumption of animal protein.

Robin Horel of CPEPC notes Canadian processors are held to very high levels of animal welfare.

Horel also says the industry is committed to producing safe, nutritious , and affordable poultry which meets the highest regulatory standards.

MFA recently released a video which claimed that chickens "bleed to death, often while still conscious."

CPEPC says that simply isn't true, as the industry in Canada follows strict Canadian Food Inspection Agency regulations and processing facilities are monitored by agency veterinarians.
