Members of North Huron Council recently supported measures to control Giant Hogweed in the surrounding area, with a focus on East Wawanosh.
Director of Public Works Jeff Molenhuis outlines the strategy North Huron is taking to combat the outbreak.
"There would be a cost to address it and we would have to do so in the very short term," said Molenhuis. "But also that in the long term we're working with the weed inspector to review any funding opportunities but also best practice to deal with it long term."
Molenhuis adds that if anyone has concerns about Giant Hogweed on their property, they can contact the weed control inspector for Huron County.
