Southern Ontario is in the midst of a rabies outbreak, and the Ontario Ministry of Natural Reources and Forestry is doing their best to let the problem from getting worse. Packets of rabies vaccine will be airdropped in an attempt to halt the outbreak. Bait will be distributed in the control zone later this month, a zone that includes the area North of London, up the Huron coast to Kincardine, and west to Durham and Shelburne. The bait is targeted towards foxes, raccoons and skunks. There is currently no effective method to vaccinate bats, who are common carriers of the virus.
