Farm Credit Canada is giving 1.5 million dollars to 78 community groups across Canada to support rural capital projects.
The FCC AgriSpirit Fund awards between five and 25-thousand dollars for community improvement projects, such as hospitals and medical centres, fire and rescue equipment, playgrounds, food banks, libraries, arenas, swimming pools, recreation areas, and community centres.
Nationally, more than 1,200 applications were received this year; over the past 14 years the fund has supported almost 1,100 projects, an investment of more than $12M.
