No More Holdup For Western Grains

Canadian National Railway says it has finally cleared the backlog of Prairie grain shipments.

Grain transportation was poor last winter and C-N apologized for service levels.

C-N Rail vice-president Sean Finn says the company is preparing its plan to move grain after this year's harvest.

He says C-N has beefed up spending on locomotives and grain hopper cars.

It has also hired 12-hundred conductors who are to be on the job this fall and expanded its network of tracks.

Finn made the comments after meeting with the Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association, SaskPulse, SaskWheat and SaskFlax.
