Critical Incident Response Team officers and other members of Chatham-Kent police are taking part in incident command exercises at the Galaxy Cinemas on St. Clair St. today.
About two dozen officers are participating in the training, which happens two to three times each year.
Constable Rob Tobin says the theatre was chosen because of its prime location and quiet atmosphere. "Logistically, this works very well for us because of the size of the parking lot, and at this time of day, it's not normally used to business."
CIRT officers could be seen walking around the cinema in full riot gear and holding weapons.
