Members of the Kent Federation of Agriculture are frustrated with Chatham-Kent's current budget proposal, especially when it comes to how much money is set aside for infrastructure.
Past President of the KFA Louis Roesch says they don't want to see any more cuts to roads, bridges, and drains.
"The way that it looks right now is that they're going to take away the funds that they gave us last year -- we find that disheartening," says Roesch, "We have good faith that it's going to work out, but still we don't want to see that money taken away from roads, bridges, and infrastructure."
Roesch says farmers in the area are also upset because property taxes for agricultural land continue to increase, while the money they need for infrastructure projects keeps getting cut.
The current tax increase sits at 1.73%. Chatham-Kent Council tackles the budget again this evening, beginning at 6pm.
