Chatham-Kent officials continue to ask for infrastructure funding and the province continues to ask for patience.
Ward 4 Councillor Joe Faas is in Toronto for a combined conference that includes the Ontario Good Roads Association. He says provincial officials are telling municipal representatives that there is something in the works.
"The province has announced that they're giving $200-million in loans plus $30-million in grants," says Faas. "It's a start but it's probably not nearly enough to do everything that needs to be done."
Faas says municipal officials are also asking the province about getting easier access to funds that would help pay for work on the stretches of Hwy. 40 that runs through Chatham and Wallaceburg.
