Cookie Monster's Selling Leamington Veggies

He's not just eating healthier these days; Cookie Monster is helping sell Leamington vegetables.

Nature Fresh Farms is joining the Eat Brighter campaign that features children's television icons to appeal to young children and their parents. The company's director of business development says you can expect to see a greater social media presence in the next three to five weeks. Soon, the likes of Cookie Monster, Big Bird and Elmo will debut on their packaging.

Ray Wowryk says it's part of a bigger campaign in the U.S. "This is a program that's in conjunction with the Healthier Eating campaign that (U.S. First Lady) Michelle Obama is part," he says. "Whenever we can gravitate towards getting the interest raised for our youth is important and this is one way of doing so."

Depending on the company's success in the new partnership, Wowryk says greater ties to Eat Brighter, including billboards may be in the works.
