Maroons Double Nationals In Game 5

The Chatham Maroons have staved off elimination for the second straight game after beating the London Nationals 4-2 to force Game 6.

On Friday, the Maroons took a 1-0 lead in the first period, but London was able to tie things 2-2 by the end of the second. In the third, Chatham scored two more goals for the win.

Maroons forward Gus Ford says being one game away from elimination means the team has to step it up.

"The plan was to come out hard just like we did in London in Game 4," he says. "It's do or die and we played with a little bit of desperation and got it done. We had to do what we had to do."

The Maroons are back for Game 6 in London on Saturday at 7:30pm.
