RIDE Programs On The Move

"Don't drink and drive and drink responsibly."

That's the message on this St. Patrick's Day from Chatham-Kent Police Sgt. Ed MacLean, who's in charge of the Traffic Unit. He says officers in his unit will hit the streets early to catch the early birds who like to go drinking over the noon hour.

"The whole department is well aware of St. Patrick's Day and all officers are going to be on the lookout for drunks and problems," says MacLean. He adds that officers are well aware of the areas that need to be observed and will move the RIDE checks around the municipality accordingly.

MacLean is reminding party goers to call a cab, phone a friend, or have a designated driver, but absolutely do not get behind the wheel if you've been drinking, and drink responsibly. CK police add they will be conducting RIDE programs throughout the afternoon and evening.
