Samsung Taps Out Green Energy Investment

The proposed North Kent Wind Project will be Samsung Energy's last wind farm in the province through the Green Energy Investment Agreement.

It will also mark the final project between Samsung Renewable Energy and Pattern Development.

"This is our sixth project with Samsung in Ontario, so we're very familiar with municipalities across the province and this is the place we wanted to develop our last project with Samsung," says Colin Edwards, director and vice president of Pattern Development. "We're delighted that our last project is the North Kent Wind Project, we couldn't have found a better place to do it."

The North Kent project has been approved by Chatham-Kent Council, but it still needs further regulatory approvals before construction can go ahead. Samsung spokesperson Tim Smitheman says Samsung is confident that this will not be the company's final wind project in Ontario.
