For its tenth year in the community, the 2015 Chatham-Kent Amazing Race is inviting back familiar faces from its previous years for the “All-Star” Edition.
The event, which raises money for the United Way, is being opened to racers from the last nine years before applications will be open to the general public. Previous racers can sign up with their original partner, other race alums, or with a new partner to create their “All Star” team.
David Drouillard, director of resource development with the United Way of Chatham-Kent, says around 500 racers have participated in the event in past years.
"We want to celebrate the fact that this is the tenth annual (event). And many of the racers who have been involved in with the Chatham-Kent Amazing Race have thought about coming back in," he says. "We wanted to give them a wide open door."
Drouillard says the United Way hopes to raise their goal of $100,000 with this year's Amazing Race.
Only 40 teams will be accepted and the deadline to submit an application is April 27. The race itself will be held on August 22. To apply online or download an application package visit www.ckamazingrace.com.
