If calls to Crime Stoppers are any indication, Canadians are increasingly worried about the potential of terrorists threats.
David Forester, the president of the Canadian Association of Crime Stoppers, spoke to the local group recently, saying more calls are coming in on possible terrorist activity.
"We continue to have exemplary results. Unfortunately, terrorism tips are up three-fold, our gun tips have more than doubled from last year," he says. "People are becoming more and more aware of situations that we didn't have to think of, especially here in Ontario even five years back."
However, since Crime Stoppers only passes the tips on to police, there is no tracking of how many of those tips represent valid threats.
Locally, Crime Stoppers officials say property crimes and drugs continue to generate the largest number of tips in Chatham-Kent.
