The London Poultry Show has been cancelled.
That's being described as a precautionary measure because of the Avian Influenza case near Woodstock.
The cancellation was recommended by the Poultry Industry Council and the Feather Board Command Centre.
The precautionary quarantine zone around that Woodstock-area turkey farm has been expanded from 5 kilometers to 10 kilometers.
According to the FBCC - U-S officials have confirmed they are recognizing that control zone for hatching eggs, day-old chicks and poults.
That means those poultry products can be exported to the U-S as long as they don't come from inside that zone.
More information is expected today on additional commodities.
Meanwhile, the FBCC has identified possible empty barns which could receive and house the chick shipments which had been scheduled for placement in quarantined barns for early this week.
Still just the one turkey farm in the Woodstock-area with confirmed cases of Avian Influenza.
However, because the control zone has been expanded, there are now 29 poultry farms under quarantine.
Poultry industry officials are reminding consumers that poultry products continue to be safe to eat as long as they are properly handled and cooked.
