Wallaceburg Councillor Jeff Wesley believes the municipality can help Habitat For Humanity find locations for homes.
During Monday's Chatham-Kent Council meeting, Wesley will put forth the motion for staff to investigate on a regular basis, to see if unused or unwanted properties could be used for low-income housing projects.
The motion adds the municipality would pick up the cost of the investigation, and add the process under Property Disposition Bylaw procedures.
Chatham-Kent's Habitat For Humanity started in 2009, and built its first home in 2013.
