The Chatham-Kent OSPCA has more than enough food just days after thieves stole from the agency's supply.
Today, Cats And Dogs Smart Pet Food handed over $2,000 worth of food and supplies.
Store owner Joanne Bondy says businessman John Cryderman promised to match what they donated dollar for dollar. "John made the challenge and I contacted my suppliers. They donated a bit and I donated a bit, and just like that we've got $2,000 worth of stuff."
Cryderman says the supplies they're donating will go a long way towards rehabing sick and injured animals. "They strictly deal in premium, high-protein pet food. There's always a better rehabilitation factor with a high-quality protein."
The OSPCA's Robyn Brady adds the majority of food that was taken Monday was meant for their outreach program. The program assists pet owners who struggle to buy food.
