It looks like the record high from 1896 is going to stand.
Warmer than normal temperatures are hitting the region this weekend with Environment Canada meteorologists suggesting the record of 30.6 C (87 F) for May 8 set for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent back in 1896 may be broken.
The high for Friday hit 29 C (84 F).
The high for Saturday is 30 C (86 F) while on Sunday temperatures are expected to hit 22 C (72 F).
