After three years of hard work and dedication the Wallaceburg Kinsmen will no longer host Ribfest. It's being replaced with Pumpkinfest.
Chair of Pumpkinfest Eric Hancock says Ribfest was a costly event and a lot of work. "Along with the fact that we're a small club of about 15 members, and this was a three day very intensive labour endeavour by our club," says Hancock. "It just wore us out to be honest."
Hancock says it will feature a pancake breakfast, afternoon barbecue, and likely a prime rib dinner, along with family activities, a sanctioned pumpkin growing contest, a kids sunflower growing contest, and a silent auction. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will be the main beneficiary of the event.
Pumpkinfest will be a one day event, held September 26, at the Kinsmen Centre in Wallaceburg.
