Excitement Surrounding Detroit Grand Prix

The roar of IndyCars can be heard along the shores of the Detroit River today, as qualifying for the Detroit-Belle Isle Grand Prix gets underway.

Chip Ganassi Driver Scott Dixon is excited to see how the $4-million upgrades to the racetrack feel.  "From what I understand, it's the whole back straight -- they took some of the kink out.  They've repaved the front straight too into turn one, which I think is going to create some better passing zones and better racing for the fans."

Dixon says the Belle Isle track is very technical and can be very physical for the drivers, but it's one of his personal favourites to race on.

The IndyCars will race Saturday and Sunday.  Fans will have the chance to see five other races over the course of the weekend as well, including the Pirelli World Challenge Series and Cadillac V-Series Challenge.
