CK Table Promises Broad Appeal

The award winning CK Table is coming back later this year in a bigger format that will explore different aspects of local food.

Co-founder Paul Spence says winning the Ontario Culinary Tourism Alliance event of the year award last year got organizers thinking about how to follow it up.

"One in August, one in September and one in November, all at separate locations and all with separate focus on what they are meant to accomplish," he says. "Part of the story around local food is that it does cost money and (the event) is meant to educate about paying farmers what they deserve and what they need, the other part (about exclusive events) is that there are those in the community it doesn't always fit for."

Spence says the August event will be a community corn roast that should be accessible for everyone, while the one in September will involve ten chefs and ten farmers.
