In an effort to teach children about different kinds of disabilities, the Chatham-Kent Children's Treatment Centre is bringing its message to the classroom.
The "Kids Are Kids" Disability Awareness Program sees staff going to area schools educating children about those with disabilities.
The Centre's Donna Litwin-Makey says they want to bring up the conversation that most children might not have on their own. "It can be just not natural to share information, or classmates might not ask a lot of questions. Really the program opens the door for that conversation."
The program is funded by regular contributions from RBC. The centre recently received a $15,000 donation.
