A Shrewsbury girl, just shy of her sixth birthday, wants her first haircut to help children battling cancer.
Daelynn Lackie has set a fundraising goal of $800 to go along with her locks. Her mother Amanda says they're over halfway there, with more than $400 collected so far. "Every time we tell her how much more she's made, and how many more people she's helping, she always gets a little smile on her face," says her proud mom. "I keep her informed of where we're at and if we get a new donation, and she loves hearing about it."
Daelynn's hair will be cut at the family home at 18485 Raglan Rd. on June 20, between 3pm-4pm. A bbq is also being hosted during the event for anyone that wants to donate in person and watch her hair get cut. Daelynn will turn 6 years old on June 29.
An online donation page has been setup on the Canadian Cancer Society website, found below, for anyone wishing to contribute to her cause.
