Chatham-Kent Council has been working together for less than a year, but one member has already stated he won't be returning.
Chatham Councillor Derek Robertson says this will be his final term, adding he wants to focus on his professional and personal life going forward.
Robertson says he still wants to continue being involved in the community, just not in a political role. "I certainly don't want to ever become a tired politician. I won't be going away quietly, people will see lots of me. I'm just looking forward to new exciting adventures in my life."
The Ward 6 councillor also dismissed any ideas of future political goals, at least for the time being. "In the political world, I suppose you can never say never, but I have no eye on any other prize today."
Robertson says he's most proud of helping to pass the Chatham-Kent Hospice motion back in 2013, which officially committed to the construction of the facility expected to open later this year.
Robertson first broke the news via a post on his facebook page. He was first elected to Chatham-Kent Council in 2010.
