Thousands are leaving Windsor's waterfront satisfied after another spectacular fireworks show over the Detroit River.
"I thought it was their best show ever," says Karen Shovein from the Detroit area. "It was beautiful, just remarkable."
The 2015 edition of the Detroit Ford Fireworks Display had its start time pushed up to 9:06pm from the scheduled 10:06pm to try and beat forecasted storms set to hit the area. The rain and stormy weather held off, allowing thousands to enjoy the show.
"They were amazing," says Brent Hamilton, watching the show with his family along Windsor's waterfront. "I would have liked it later at night, but I guess I don't get to choose. You take what you get."
Hamilton isn't alone in wishing the fireworks started later. Those looking for a good picture, like Kati Panasiuk from Tecumseh, were hoping for more nightime dazzlers, but is happy with how the show unfolded.
"The finale was really good. Overall, the fireworks were pretty small, not so much in your face like last year, but they were good," says Panasiuk.
A tornado watch was issued shortly after the show ended, prompting police to begin urging people to leave the waterfront.
