Chatham-Kent's Public Utilities Commission is clarifying its water treatment standards after a recent news story.
Officials say a CBC story recently aired discussing over 100 parameters from the federal government regarding public drinking water.
But the PUC's Tim Sunderland says water plants in the province follow Ontario standards, which are more stringent. "There's been some questions to the PUC about provincial vs federal. The federal requirements are more for the rest of Canada that do not have the strict regulations Ontario follows."
Sunderland adds every plant is different, meaning there are some samples that are required for some plants and not others.
