New Study Into Phosphorous Run-Off

A new study into algae bloom causing phosphorous run-off into Lake Erie is gathering comments.

Susan Humphrey with Environment Canada, and the Canadian co-lead of the water quality study, says online is the primary way to submit comments.

"We're also reaching out to targeted stake holder groups around the Lake Erie watershed, including municipal folks, and conservation authorities and the agricultural sector," she says.

The comment period wraps up at the end of August. People can click here to submit their comment.

The group will work from February 2016 to 2018 identifying sources of phosphorous and looking for ways to cut back the run-off.
