A culvert installation is keeping the intersection of Bear Line and St. Andrews line closed for the rest of the month.
Engineering Technologist Mark Ceppi says large culverts are being installed across both roads so it is taking longer than a standard replacement.
"Likely because of the size of the drain and the pipe that is being installed. The bigger it is the more road work that's involved as well," he says. "Usually it is the first few days that causes the most issues, now we did have signs posted at the work site for I believe the last week so hopefully that gave regular traffic users ample notification."
Ceppi says Bear Line is very well traveled both as an alternative to Hwy 40 and to get to Mitchell's Bay, but it is a fairly extensive repair that is needed.
