Unofficial Campaign Well Underway

The federal Liberals in Chatham-Kent Leamington are opening campaign offices in Chatham today and Leamington on Friday even though an election is still three months away.

Candidate Katie Omstead says she is trying to reach everyone.

"Our riding name and size has changed and we've gained some new communities so we want to make sure we get to every door," she says. "I think (the economy) is going to be huge and much as the Harper government and our Prime Minister is avoiding questions Canadians are smarter than that and they know the economy is a huge issue."

She says the economy is especially big in Southwestern Ontario where so many people have left the area to find opportunity.

The official opening begins at 5 pm at the Chatham office at 210 King St. W.
