Some business owners and financial planners in Leamington are worried about the proposed Ontario Retirement Pension Plan. About a dozen people at the Rhine Danube Club listened to PC finance critic MPP Vic Fedeli describe how he expects the proposed pension plan will impact business. That includes the loss of 30,000 jobs province wide, according to a cabinet memo Fedeli quoted. Greenhouse owner Howard Huy anticipates serious impacts on his farm. He says the extra cost of the plan to himself and his employees could eliminate jobs down the road. The ORPP will begin coming into effect in 2017, but won't be fully rolled out until 2020. Fedeli is giving a similar talk in Blenheim this afternoon.
