United Way Goal Over $2 million

United Way organizers were thinking long-term when coming to their 2015 campaign goal.

The $2,015,000 total is a number hopefully raised by all of Chatham-Kent; the United Way won't be keeping track of funds raised by individual communities.

Co-Chair Aimee June isn't concerned smaller townships like Blenheim and Wallaceburg will feel "left out."

"I just don't think that's going to happen. I really believe if we come together as a community, then we'll be able to reach our target."

Organizers add this is the first year of a larger, five-year vision for fundraising goals. After touring the agencies the United Way supports, officials believe they can sustainably support them if they target raising $2.5 million in 2020.
