Could Buxton Benefit From TV Exposure

Officials with economic development in Chatham-Kent hope a nationally televised feature on Buxton will have a positive spin-off affect.

Development officer Geoff Wright says the piece that aired last night can have an impact on a community. A segment of the show featured the business Bradonna Woodwork, exposure Wright says you just can't buy.

"They took some footage from the inside of the shop, and they interviewed the owners and the owners son," says Wright. "Anytime we can talk about the young folks in the community coming back and finding work, like in a facility like Bradonna, that's positive."

The CBC program Still Standing took a light hearted approch to the struggles of Buxton since the end of the underground railroad movement.
