Maroons And Nationals Tie After Double OT

The Chatham Maroons tied the London Nationals 2-2 after a close game went into double overtime.

On Wednesday, the Maroons held a 1-0 lead until late in the second period when the Nationals scored to tie the game going into the third. Both teams scored once in the final frame to force OT. After no scoring in two overtime periods, the game ended in a tie.

Maroons goalie Parker Butler made 45 saves during the game, but wishes he had made just one more.

"I thought I did alright, but I wish I had the last (goal) back so we could have got the win," he says. "I thought it was a good game. It's a lot bigger ice than our home rink, so I thought the boys played pretty well. But I wish we could have got the win."

The Maroons will take on the St. Marys Lincolns next on Sunday at 7pm.
