The alarm was sounded shortly after 2 pm, it is believed flames spread from a burn barrel near the structure.
Assistant Fire Chief Al DeVillaer said a quick examination indicated there was about $30,000 in damage.
While the shed appeared to be a total loss DeVillaer noted crews had managed to keep the fire away from a fuel tank near the building.
The man was charged in March with sexual assault offences.
Both couples won in the April 11 draw.
