Stars Double Maroons

The Chatham Maroons suffered a 6-3 loss to the St. Thomas Stars Thursday night.

The Maroons had a rough start, falling behind 3-1 at the end of the first period. Chatham was able to cut into the Stars' lead at the beginning of the second, but another goal from St. Thomas put them ahead 4-2. The Maroons scored again in the third, but two more points from St. Thomas in the final frame ensured their win.

Maroons forward Austin Thompson scored two goals for Chatham and says after it was a tough loss coming off a 7-0 win over the St. Marys Lincolns.

"Of course coming off a big win your going to want to carry momentum, but St. Marys, that game is done in the past, you've got to move on and look foward," he says. "We didn't come out as strong as we could, like we did in the second period. I think if we would have come out in the first like we did in the second, it could have been a different story."

The Maroons return to the ice on Sunday to take on the Sarnia Legionnaires at 7pm.
