Release On Conditions For Dog Accused

Despite facing what a Justice of the Peace described as horrendous and sensational charges, two men suspected of being involved in a dog fight operation are can be released with strict conditions.

Justice of the Peace Holly Debacker imposed a ban on publication of evidence from the bail hearing but she described the allegations as horrendous and said the community would be outraged.

Chatham-Kent police and the SPCA had previously announced the two, 41-year-old John Robert and 43-year-old Michel Gagnon,  face more than 90 charges after a raid on a Morris Line property.

They were ordered to surrender their passports, agree not to have any type of animal or training devices and Gagnon will have to live somewhere else. He had been living at the Robert property.

They are due back in court November 5.
