Charges After Crash Closes Hwy. 40

A 26-year-old Tupperville man has been charged with careless driving after a crash closed Hwy. 40.

Provincial Police say a westbound Volkswagen Golf on Countryview Line hit a Chevrolet Suburban that was northbound on Hwy. 40 just before 7am.

Heinrich Martens was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries while the driver of the Suburban, a 65-year-old Chatham man, was checked at the scene.

Hwy. 40 was closed at Countryview Line, between Chatham and Wallaceburg, for under an hour to allow officers to investigate and remove the vehicles.
