The 'Celebrate the Five Senses' event raising money for the Chatham Cultural Centre is being postponed because of poor ticket sales.
Marlee Robinson, board member with the Friends of the Cultural Centre, says the group has been working on the event for four months, but only promoting it for the last three weeks.
"We had capped the tickets at about 200, so if we had known that we would get half of that we would have gone ahead," says Robinson. "Unfortunately, the ticket sales were very low."
The event was set for Thursday night, but now will be rescheduled. Robinson says at this time a date hasn't been decided on.
"We're going to have to sit down as a committee and look at other dates, come up with something that's going to work for everyone and give people as much notice as possible," says Robinson.
The night was billed as an "evening of culture" with music, food and a silent auction all featuring in the event.
