Local Health Rep On Advisory Council

A rep from the Erie St. Clair CCAC is fighting at the provincial level.

Bill Holling serves as a patient family advisor with the local centre, but is now a member of the Health Quality Ontario Advisory Council. Holling says he, along with most of the other 15 members, have never worked in the health sector.

"We all come from an area where it's a passion with us. Most of the time it's through a personal or family experience, and we see positive and negatives with healthcare," says Holling.

For Holling, his main concern is the future of senior care.

"The growth is going to be enormous over the next 20 years," he says. "I don't feel enough has been done in the last, say, ten years, to prepare for that future growth."

The group meets quarterly to discuss large-scale healthcare concerns that can't be addressed at the local level.
