Home health care providers across Chatham-Kent, Windsor, Essex, and Sarnia Lambton have been recognized by the CCAC for going above and beyond the normal duties.
Care givers like Susan Arnold who is a palliative care nurse had to be nominated by their patients, or family of their patients.
"I took care of Stephen, (he) passed away last April just before his 46th birthday, so it was his sister Suzanne who nominated me for this award," she says. "It is kind of reassuring that you make that impact on people that wasn't just for the time being it does last."
Arnold says she was touched to have made enough on an impact on her patient's family that they nominated her.
Professional and informal caregivers are eligible for the awards. In total 67 people were recognized across the three districts.
