Windsor Jobless Rates Hits 10%

Windsor's jobless rate returned to the double digits again in November, inching upwards 0.2% to 10% and continuing to be the highest in Canada.

It was 9.8% in October.

Statistics Canada says London's unemployment rate fell from 7.1% in October to 6.8% last month.

Nationally, the unemployment rate ticked upwards slightly to 7.1% from 7%. Analysts say the economy shed 35,700 jobs reversing a rise in temporary work previously credited to the federal election. The overall number of part-time jobs fell in November, but full-time work increased with the addition of 36,600 positions.

Young adults continue to have the highest rate of joblessness although the rate fell from 13.3% in October to 12.7% in November.
